"Tryp Macarena Hotel was a very beautiful hotel "
Tryp Macarena Hotel was a very beautiful hotel in a very beautiful city. We had an incredible visit and enjoyed the hotel. I couldn't add anything negative as our experience was wonderful. We stayed several days and our party enjoyed the salt water pool, the location to area activities, shops, etc. and truly enjoyed the City of Seville. Our room was comfortable and no complaints there. |

"Tryp Macarena Hotel has a corporate feel"
Tryp Macarena Hotel has a corporate feel, however there is a big pool on the roof, so when we were there (end of August) is was perfect for falling into after a couple of hours walking round Seville in the baking (37C+) sun. We didn't eat in the hotel, preferring to use local cafe bars and restaurants. The hotel is a bit of a long walk from the main sites. |

"Very good Value"
Overall, I was very impressed with the Hotel. It is situated about 1km outside the Town centre, which is about a 5 euro taxi ride away (no big deal). The Hotel itself, is clean and well run. The Receptionist was very friendly, and had arranged for us to have twin rooms as requested. The rooms were well appointed and clean, with a small balcony, room safe, mini bar and A/C (which just about coped with the heat!! There is a reasonably sized bathroom, with a shower in the bath.
There is a roof top pool. Its 'L-shaped' and reasonably sized. There is a large patio area with tables, chairs and sunbeds, but limited shade areas, so be careful!!
We had breakfast there (do sign up to the loyalty programme for discounts) and the cold foods were fine, but the cooked stuff was very average. You can have drinks at the bar, but the staff there were not quite so friendly, just ok!
There are very few bars and restaurants nearby as previous reviews suggested. In fact, we were quite unlucky with our choices even in the town Centre, so no reccommendations, sorry. The main two areas for nightlife are 1) Near the University 2) On the Riverbank. BUT be aware, Nightlife doesnt kick in untill after 11pm.
All in all, I would be happy to stay at the Tryp Macerena again. And I would have no problems reccommending this as a genuinely good value hotel. 4/5

"Nice, big hotel"
We booked this hotel for a two-night stay during our 22-day trip around Spain. It is a nice, average 4-star hotel. The rooms are very big for European standards, their breakfast is above average for a 4-star hotel. As all big hotels, service is impersonal, different from other places we stayed, which had less rooms. Regarding location, it is a bit far from the main sites of interest, some 20 minutes walk. On the other hand, the hotel is very close to Alameda de Hercules, a huge square surrounded by cafes. It is also some 10 minutes walk from the river shore, with lots of bars and restaurants. Try the poor-looking seafood bar in the corner of the riverside avenue and the avenue that comes down to the hotel. Nice prices and superb food!
