"Almost perfect...."
I've just returned from a three-night stay at the Alfonso XIII and can only say that it is right up with the very best hotels in the world (my usual reference points, in case you are wondering, are the Peninsula in Hong Kong and the Crillon in Paris).
The welcome was warm and check-in quick and easy. I had booked a junior suite but was upgraded, free of charge, to a full one (247), which had the most stunning panelled high ceilings and quite exquisite Moorish tiling in the bathroom. Both bar and room service were exceptional and the food top-notch (why the restaurant doesn't have a Michelin star is beyond me). Of course, it is not cheap but good discounts are available off-peak and Seville is such a beautiful city that searching out deals here is a must.
There were, however, three minor flaws: firstly, no-one showed me to my room or introduced me to the facilities upon arrival; secondly, the hairdryer was rather underpowered; finally, the hotel is not adequately soundproofed against the noise from the busy streets below, a din exacerbated by the ongoing work as Seville constructs its own Metro system.
These quibbles aside, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will certainly not be staying anywhere else when I return to Seville in the future.

"Seville's most exclusive hotel"
We have spend two nights at this hotel, part of our two weeks holidays in Spain. This exclusive hotel situated among the arches and arabesques of the historic city-centre of Seville, epitomises the distinctive grace and splender of Andalucia's unique Arab heritage. The interior of this hotel is magical, with coffered ceilings, patterned marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and most dramatic of all a visual feast of the mosaics. When we arrived the hotel offered to us a complimentary excursion around the city with a horse carriage. What a lovely wellcome! The staff was very polite and helpfull. Our room was a large 15-century Castilian style deluxe room, with a carved oak ceiling, walled covered with silk and linen, and a Murano chandelier. Its was located at the 2nd floor with a splendit view of the gardens and the swimming pool. The hotel's San Fernando restaurant offers exquisite Spanish cousine. This is Seville's best restaurant!
As we were there June, every night we had dinner at the hotel's splendid courtyard, which has a central fountain and tiled archways. Lovely and very romantic place! About lounge-time every day, we were swimming at the hotel's swimming pool which situated in the gardens, between palm trees and orange trees. We do love this hotel as it is a very unique grand hotel, comparing with most of the grand hotels in Europe.

"An elegant hotel in Seville"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this wonderful hotel. The location, just outside the Alcazar and within walking distance of all the important sights of Seville, is ideal. The staff was polite, friendly and helpful, with good suggestions from the concierge about restaurants and tours of the city. The grounds and public spaces of the hotel are exquisite, with beautiful Spanish tiles, elegant furnishings and lovely flowers and plants everywhere. The pool and terrace are beautiful also. My room, although not large, was decorated with silk paneled walls, comfortable and attractive furniture and a large and well-equipped bathroom. The place was immaculately clean with efficient housekeeping and turndown service. I can't praise the Alfonso XIII highly enough. It really was the highlight of my hotel stays in Spain.

"THE BEST HOTEL IN SEVILLA"
The Alfonso is exqusite and it's almost as though the best of Sevilla has been built around it! On top of that, the service was gracious and flawless. If you'll check my other reviews you'll see that I am a discerning, even picky, reviewer. If something is wrong, I don't hesitate in pointing it out. In the case of the Alfonso, everything was always right. And they even gave us a great deal and an upgraded room! This one I highly recommend! Great concierge too!
