Our stay in December 2007 Wea have appreciated the friendly reception and the service offered by the hotel staff (information on availability of busses, local trains, taxis etc.). The rooms are ok but were a bit noisy when we approached the week-end - we had two bank holidays during our week - Spanish hotel guest do talk loudly in the corridors during all hours of the night. We were fortunate enough to have a room on the second floor at the rear of the hotel so there was almost no traffic noise, the double glazing and the double windows would have stopped it anyway. We liked the hotel restaurant which we used twice but the breakfast offered is rather basic - coffee & juices from a dispenser machine - limited choice of meats & cheese, but everything is available in large quantities. We were somewhat dissapointed by the time it takes going to the city center using the Tussam busses - it takes you about 30 minutes in the morning and some 20 minutes to return in the late evening. Busses however are plentyfull, you never have to wait more than 12 minutes.

"A very good alternative to downtown hotels" We stayed in the Do?a Carmela hotel in March 2004. This modern hotel is located in the Sevilla suburb of Bellavista in a rather popular area, some 5 km from the downtown area but excellently connected with it by road (direct highway), an urban bus line (running every 10 minutes) and a RENFE suburban train line (running every 30 minutes), the station being only minutes away. That's why we preferred this hotel to a downtown address. The hotel has its own garage but there is free parking available in front of the hotel. Bellavista's main road (which is very busy) passes in front if the hotel but windows are noise-proof, and if you ask for a room on the back side, you won't hear street noise anyway. Rooms are clean, spacious, and well equipped. The management seems to take good care of the hotel, and staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast (Spanish style, therefore simple) is served in the hotel's own bar, which seems to be permantly crowded, also with local people. We really liked the Do?a Carmela hotel, which offeres *** comfort for a price that you easily pay for a downtown * hotel or hostal. Actually, the price posted in the room was 72 EUR for the period of our stay but we were charged only 52 EUR so it may be worth asking for special offers upon arrival or when booking.
